As you can see, it’s hitting the right chord with the locals, who are enjoying excellent, well-priced food in a laid back atmosphere. Do check out their menu online, and tell me if it doesn’t have you hustling on a tram down Glenferrie Road!

If you’re getting dessert here, which we did as a sort of cheeky brunch-dessert (says Nic, ‘definitely a legit meal’), it’s very difficult to go past a warm slice of gingerbread with spiced rum bananas, caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I would have happily eaten this gloriously sticky dessert without the ice cream, though it did provide a nice foil to the richness of the dish.
